NU Hotel Brooklyn and its neighborhood partners are hosting an art opening, where friends and neighbors of the hotel are invited to tour the rooms and meet the artists, on February 21.(Brooklyn, N.Y. – February 7, 2013) Local artists have invaded NU Hotel Brooklyn with their creative touch, literally, transforming four of the hotel’s 93 rooms with floor-to-ceiling murals as part of the NU Perspectives project. To celebrate their completed works of art, NU Hotel is hosting a NU Perspectives art opening on February 21, 2013 with neighborhood partners Urban Folk Art, Brooklyn Republic Vodka and Bar Tabac.The evening festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with a gallery reception at Urban Folk Art/ Brooklyn Tattoo, an art gallery and tattoo shop, located down the street from the hotel. The gallery is co-owned and co-operated by one of the NU Perspectives Artists, Adam Suerte. Immediately following, guests are invited for an art opening and open house from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at NU Hotel on the corner of Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. NU Perspectives artists will be in attendance to discuss their art and creative process for the duration of the event. Misdemeanor, NU Hotel’s lobby bar and lounge, will host the reception featuring light bites and Brooklyn Republic Vodka. Complimentary vodka will be provided by liquor sponsor Republic Vodka from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“The NU Perspecives project epitomizes NU Hotel’s dedication to art and the community,” said Javier Egipciaco, NU Hotel Brooklyn’s general manager. “The NU Perspectives guestrooms have already gotten a great response with our guests – now it’s time to showcase them to the larger community with an event that travels around the neighborhood with NU hotel at its core.”Bar Tabac, Smith Street French restaurant and NU Hotel neighbor and partner, invites NU Perspectives party attendees to join them for an after party featuring live music from 9 p.m. Attendees will receive a complimentary glass of champagne with the purchase of a dinner entrée.Learn more about the NU Perspectives project and the artists by visiting NU Hotel’s website.
